After turning heads with her Falguni Shane Peacock black and gold ensemble for her first appearance at Cannes 2024, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stunned everyone with her second look as well. The global icon attended the Kinds of Kindness screening dressed in another splendid costume by the designer. Now, the striking blue and silver gown has sparked a meme fest on social media.

Some netizens compared her outfit to the decorations seen at children’s birthday parties. One user wrote, “What was the inspiration? Birthday party? Sack your stylist, Aishwarya.” Many users were simply unimpressed with her outfit and stated, “She wears horrendous costumes in Cannes mainly to grab the attention of the media/public & she wants them to discuss it….!!She achieved what she wanted to achieve by wearing Birthday decoration frills. PS: One of the biggest fans of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.”

Another user compared her dress to the pom poms used by cheerleaders. “No way they used pom poms to make an outfit for aishwarya,” stated one. Many also thought that the stylists did a very bad job.

Aishwarya’s second outfit at Cannes 2024 is just as striking as the first. It comes in an exquisite silver hue, embellished with sequins all around. The bodycon cut hugged her body flawlessly, and the fishtail hemline and embellishments with turquoise accents turned out to be the highlight. The floor-sweeping train at the back offered an extra layer of drama. Her gorgeous gown, with its flawless combination of sequins and fringes, gave a unique touch to her outfit.

Aishwarya accessorised the outfit with diamond drop earrings, a sleek silver bracelet, a ring, and a pair of high heels. The entire look was styled by famous stylist Akshay Tyagi. Her glam picks include green eyeshadow, smudged eyeliner, mascaraed lashes, defined brows, kajal strokes, flushed cheeks, a dewy base, luminous highlighter and a glossy nude lipstick. She finished off her look with her hair done in delicate curls and left open in the centre, cascading wonderfully down her shoulders.

Aishwarya made her debut at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival, wearing a saree designed by Neeta Lulla. The Bollywood actress, who was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s pan-Indian blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan: II, stunned on the Cannes red carpet in a silver hooded cape gown last year.
