A seasoned pro, Nassar's passion for riding started at a young age.

Nayel Nassar, the son-in-law of Microsoft tycoon Bill Gates, will compete for Egypt at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This year, Nassar, married to Jennifer, the oldest daughter of Bill Gates, will compete in his second Olympics. In 2020, he finished 24th for Team Egypt in the equestrian jumping competition.

Three disciplines — dressage, eventing and jumping — will be available for individual and team competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics in equestrian events. Nassar is registered to compete in the individual equestrian jumping competition.

A seasoned pro, Nassar’s passion for riding started at five and began jumping at the age of ten.

Since then, he has qualified for the FEI World Cup Finals in 2013, 2014 and 2017, as well as the FEI World Equestrian Games in 2014.

Nassar’s parents are Egyptian, hence he has been able to compete for the nation in equestrian events, according to his Global Champions League profile.

Nassar was born in Chicago but grew up in Kuwait, per his Global Champions League profile.

According to Al Arabiya English and Emirates Woman, he was given a “wealthy upbringing” by his parents, who own an architecture and design business in the nation and moved to the United States in 2009.

According to his profile, he has also won first place in a number of competitions, including the Rabat CSIO4* Designated Olympic Qualifier, the New York Masters CSI5 Grand Prix, the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Del Mar, and the Las Vegas National Horse Show Winning Round CSI 3.

Show jumper Nassar assisted Egypt in earning a spot at the Tokyo Olympics. With this achievement, Egypt’s equestrian team qualified for the Olympics for the first time in 61 years.

After earning an economics degree from Stanford in 2013, Nassar wed Jennifer in 2021. The couple had their first kid in 2023, and a second is due soon.

Currently, the couple owns and operates Wellington, Florida-based Evergate Stables, a horse stable.

It’s unclear if Melinda and Bill Gates will go to Paris for the Olympics. But a number of various VIPs have flocked to the French capital. Nita Ambani, the head of the Reliance Foundation, was spotted on Friday at the inauguration event with her husband Mukesh and daughter Isha.

In addition, it is said that Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, Delta CEO Ed Bastian and Tesla billionaire Elon Musk are all attending the Olympics in Paris.
