Discount coupons are often distributed by restaurants, hotels and eateries to its customers following a purchase. Offering concession or combo deals for future meals is a common practice in the hospitality sector. Now, a customer’s experience at the renowned coffeehouse chain, Starbucks, has garnered much traction on social networking sites. Recently, a customer successfully redeemed a coupon issued back in 2006. This incident caught the attention of online users when a Starbucks employee posted a photo of a decade old coupon on Reddit. Surprisingly, despite the fact that several years have gone by, the brown paper (coupon) was well-preserved.

Not for resale.” The information also revealed that the card was to be surrendered at the time of redemption to receive the free drink.
