Nowadays, transportation is incredibly easy and affordable thanks to companies like Ola and Uber. To ensure the utmost safety for their customers, the companies give them access to their names and locations, while they also have the option to cancel their rides. However, one person is grabbing social media’s attention for this hilarious reason for cab cancellation.
The now-viral post was shared on an Instagram account called @timepassstruggler, which shows a screenshot of a message from Ola. The photo screenshot is a notification from Ola, which reads, “Yamaraja has arrived and is waiting at your location.” The description of the video gave more details on the context of the message. It said, “Somebody booked an Ola cab in Karnataka but cancelled after seeing the name of the driver.” According to Hinduism, Yamaraja is the god of death. So, it is unsurprising to know, why the customer opted to cancel instead of giving the ride a shot.
The post is aptly captioned, “YAMRAJ has arrived and ready for en route to HELL,” completed with several laughing emojis. Netizens shared their funny reactions to the clip in the comments section. A user wrote, “Must be Y Amar Raja.” A second user expressed, “We can only avoid for a short time. But the reality is we can’t get away from Yamaraja.” A third user wrote, “Correct reason for cancellation.” The post has amassed more than 744,000 likes and over 40 million views on the platform so far.

Last year in January, a similar hilarious cab cancellation story made rounds online. The experience was shared on X by a user called @ashimhta. She shared a screenshot of a conversation with her Uber ride and how she was rejected by the driver. The driver named Bharath messaged, “Cancel this ride, I’m sleepy.” The screenshot was posted with the tweet, “Tired after a day of hustling at @peakbengaluru.”
