Family Heard Buzzing Sounds From Ceiling, It Turned Out To Be Thousands Of Bees

A massive colony of bees has caused a stir in Inverness, Scotland after 1,80,000 of them were discovered inside a house ceiling. According to reports, it is believed the bees had lived for several years above the plasterboard ceiling in a spare bedroom in the property. The homeowner’s grandchildren reported hearing buzzing sounds at night when they went to sleep. When the originating place of the sounds was broken, three colonies were found in the home, with up to 60,000 bees in each. Beekeeper Andrew Card of the Loch Ness Honey Company was called to help relocate the swarm back to temporary hives. Before starting the work, Andrew had recorded a video of this horrifying scenario and uploaded it on Instagram. The video shows him initially showing a couple of bees flying outside the window. Users see the most spine-chilling scenario when the beekeeper turns the camera upwards.

Users can spot a bee colony with a swarm of large-sized bees. Andrew then shows another bee colony with an equal number of insects thriving in another colony. He remains composed while showing this uncomfortable watch. The clip has garnered more than 36,000 views and counting.

Social media users were terrified after watching the clip and one of them requested Andrew to show the place where these bees had been emptied. One of the users was also shocked that bees can collect on the house’s rooftops. Others requested the house owners to not attack bees in such cases and instead call the beekeepers to help the insects shift to a better place.

According to the British Beekeepers Association, most honey bee swarms are not aggressive but people should stay away from them and leave them alone. Honey bee swarming is natural and the bees are just looking for a new home.

In an almost similar scenario, a swarm of bees collected on an auto-rickshaw parked near the Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple of the Idukki district of Munnar, Kerala. As per the photos captured by Local 18 Kerala, bees occupied both the inner and outer regions of the three-wheeler in massive numbers.
