Dr Raj Phanden, also known as Cycle Baba, shared a video that documented the kindness of Afghans. In the video, he said that his biggest problem in Afghanistan was that people kept refusing the money even after he insisted. This clip soon got over eight million views after it was shared on June 18.
Commenting on this video, an Instagram user commented, “Instagram has unveiled the true colours of the world, revealing the beauty and diversity which is often overlooked. This is a new vibrant reality around us.”
Someone pointed to the cultural ties between India and Afghanistan and wrote, “India has historical and civilizational ties with Afghanistan and our development partnership has included more than five hundred projects spread across each of the 34 provinces of the country in critical areas of power, water supply, road connectivity, healthcare, education, agriculture and capacity building.”
People also shared their experiences when they saw kindness from strangers. An Instagram user wrote, “I am from Punjab India and have been to Dubai. No Taxi driver took money from me. A few shopkeepers gave me one kg dates and chocolate for free. They said we are from the same place. Punjab Pakistan and Punjab India. We all are united.”
Another person wrote, “I am Indian. Even during one of my exits in the Airport. I was the only girl and there were many Pakistani pathans they all sat at one corner and gave me more than half of the space so I felt comfortable and offered me food blankets pillows so l feel safe and better, even if they weren’t getting visas and they were staying there for 4 days and i got within 2-3 hours, they forgot their all tension to make me feel safe and secure like a child because I was the only girl there. I don’t know where they are now but god bless them.”
