The conspiracy theories, speculations, and rumours about Kate Middleton are rife across social media. Most recently, the Dublin Airport took a potshot at the royal couple by posting a badly edited photo of Kate Middleton with Prince William inside the airport. The photo of Kate and William used in the edit was first posted by UK tabloid The Sun, which claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales made a stop at a farm shop near their Adelaide Cottage residence. While sharing the edited photo, the Irish Airport cheekily wrote, “Great to see passengers looking so happy and relaxed this morning,” referring to the alleged eyewitness accounts which described Kate Middleton as “happy, relaxed and healthy”.
The Dublin Airport’s post went viral as it gathered over 90,000 likes since it was posted on March 19. An X user described this post as “genius marketing”. Many people lauded the Dublin Airport for utilising the buzz around Kate Middleton’s whereabouts to increase their social media engagement, while some thought that it was done in poor taste.

Last week, Dublin Airport threw shade at Kate Middleton, following the global retraction of her Mother’s Day photo due to editing allegations, by sharing a badly edited photo of actor Cillian Murphy getting down from a plane. The Dublin Airport captioned the photo, “Our new social media intern Kate did a great job capturing Cillian Murphy’s return to Dublin Airport this morning after his Oscars success.” This post also raked in over 27,000 likes.

On January 17, Kensington Palace announced Kate Middleton’s hospitalization for a “planned abdominal surgery” and mentioned that the palace would only give any updates on her health unless there was “significant” new information to share. On January 29, the palace announced that Kate Middleton returned home from the hospital and would continue her recovery.
Since then, Kate Middleton has been snapped by paparazzi twice, but many claim that it is not Kate Middleton in the videos but a doppelganger. The conspiracy theories about her shot through the roof after she posted a photo of herself and her three kids on Mother’s Day, which was later retracted by major news publications upon discovering that it was edited.
