Seeking out specific qualities in potential life partners is a natural part of the search process. However, when these preferences become overly extravagant, they can make a person seem unattainable and questionable. This was precisely the case with a woman whose exceptionally high expectations for her future husband caused a stir on the internet. What did she demand or expect? Well, to start, an annual income of ‘at least’ Rs. 1 crore, despite her own family income being Rs. 4 lakhs.
But that’s not all that led to her being trolled online. In a picture shared on ‘X’ by user @Ambar_SIFF_MRA, the translated Marathi WhatsApp text revealed the 37-year-old woman’s peculiar expectations for her potential spouse.

While desiring a partner with their ‘own’ home in Mumbai and status as a non-widower seemed fairly standard, it was her subsequent ‘prerequisites’ that truly raised eyebrows. “The man should be highly educated, like an MBBS surgeon or a Chartered Accountant with his own firm, or from any educational background with a senior position (any other field with a higher position will do),” it read. Additionally, the man’s income should be at least 1 crore.
And as if that wasn’t enough, there was yet another expectation – a willingness to live abroad, preferably in Europe, with Italy being the cherry on top.

Predictably, the post went viral, leaving users in disbelief. “Nothing wrong in this. Everyone has a right to cho(o)se. She has right to cho(o)se her groom. Likewise men has right to reject her,’ quipped one user.
“As per IT data, only 1.7 lakh people have an income higher than 1 Cr in India. So her chance of finding her “dream” man is 0.01% at 37 yrs of age” remarked another, injecting a dose of statistical reality. A third user, perhaps tongue-in-cheek, suggested, “Ek baar Shak Tank mein pitch karna chahiye.” And a fourth astutely pointed out, “Seems is on a shopping spree. No where qualities of groom are mentioned like understanding, calm, family oriented, etc. Just price, post money.”
