As reported by Mid-day, railway officials confirmed the incident as a case of track trespassing, emphasising the importance of utilising designated crossings. The man found himself in jeopardy while crossing the tracks, as a suburban local train bound for Panvel suddenly applied emergency brakes, halting just in time on the platform to avert disaster. With the man pinned beneath the train, bystanders sprang into action, collectively exerting force to shift the massive 12-carriage locomotive to the side.
Though the initial attempts, captured in the viral footage, may have appeared futile, the original poster on Reddit, @Cat_Of_Culture, later revealed, “When I recorded this, people were just pushing randomly. Later, everybody collaborated and pushed at the same time and it worked.”
