The filming for Angels with Filthy Souls took place in a single day, specifically on the last “test day” just before the principal photography started for Home Alone. Director of photography Julio Macat shared that they approached the shoot with a sense of having “nothing to lose.”
Interestingly, the script pages for this particular sequence were received late and was only referred to as “the gangster film” initially. The title, inspired by James Cagney’s film Angels with Dirty Faces, was decided much later.
