Pune Police Detains 2 Men For 'Stuntbaazi' On Moving Mercedes
Pune Police swiftly took action and detained two youngsters whose video of casually sitting on top of a moving Mercedes circulated on social media.

Engaging in risky stunts, particularly in moving vehicles, can be dangerous and could lead to life threatening consequences. Despite repeated warnings from police officials, some individuals flaunt their audacious acts and deliberately break rules, which end up with serious outcomes. In Pune, something similar happened, as local police quickly took action and detained two youngsters whose video of casually sitting on top of a moving Mercedes C200 circulated on social media platforms. Calling their act as ‘stuntbaazi’ which happened at around 12:30 pm, police in their X post claimed that the incident happened in Telco Road on Pimpri-Chinchwad, approximately 15 kms from Pune. The police not only recounted the incident on their post but also shared a picture showing the repercussions faced by the thrill seeking youngsters.

Sharing the post, the Pune Police wrote, “ON THE LEFT is a WhatsApp Video we came across of two boys doing ‘STUNTBAAZI’ on Telco Road. ON THE RIGHT is the ‘PRIZE’ we gave them for their Adventure Sports Under sections 279, 336 IPC and sections 184, 119, 177 MV Act, a case has been registered… and the vehicle has been seized. Do not assume that you are safe from any consequences of such actions. According to prevailing laws, strict action will be taken for indulging in such stunts in public places,” accompanied with the hashtags, #ZeroTolerance and #PimpriChinchwad.

In response to the post, a user suggested police should crack down drivers who take their vehicle on the wrong side.

Another individual called for strict action against all types of traffic violators, proposing that the traffic department could become wealthier by rewarding officers who take maximum fines.

An individual asked the police to raise awareness about not standing on sunroofs, especially for children, as many parents allow their kids to stand in moving cars.

One more appreciated the police for delivering a valuable lesson, particularly to those who drive luxury cars and believe they own the road.

As reported by Punekar News, one of the individuals involved in the daring act has been identified as Vishnudas Madhukar Sawant, who is the resident of Kothrud. Pimpri Chinchwad Police have taken legal action against Vishnudas under multiple sections, which includes 279 (Rash driving) and 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code. Additionally, charges under Sections 184 (Dangerous driving), 119, and 177 (Violation of traffic signs and signals) of the Motor Vehicles Act have been filed against the young man. The case has been officially registered at the MIDC Bhosari Police Station.
