Kindness can feel like an old-fashioned idea in today’s fast-paced, materialistic world. But in Ranchi, a food delivery agent broke through the norm with a gesture of kindness that warmed hearts online. The touching story emerged when a woman, who goes by the name Nandini Tank on ‘X’, shared it on social media.
Taking to the platform, Nandita explained, “I had sharp cramps and couldn’t walk to the medical store, so ordered food on @Swiggy and asked the delivery agent if he could buy me a medicine. He was really kind enough to get me one. I made sure to tip him and thank him for his kindness.” She posted a picture of the medicine, Meftal Spas, along with the delivery receipt from the restaurant.

Her post quickly went viral, drawing comments from many. While some questioned why she didn’t opt for Swiggy Genie or another online delivery service, Nandita explained that none were available at the time, leaving her with no choice but to rely on the Swiggy food delivery agent.

Amidst the applause for the delivery hero, one commenter exclaimed, “Wow! Im impressed” Another chimed in, “That is so kind of him.”
However, amidst the accolades, concerns surfaced about the medicine’s safety for treating cramps. Citing a cautionary note by The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) from December 2023, many shared links highlighting potential risks associated with Meftal Spas. The IPC advised against the medication which is commonly used to treat various conditions including menstrual cramps, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, dysmenorrhea, mild to moderate pain, inflammation, fever, and dental pain.
The alert mentioned that mefenamic acid, an ingredient in Meftal Spas, could lead to potential adverse reactions, including a severe condition known as DRESS syndrome (Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms). DRESS syndrome is a rare but serious hypersensitivity reaction to certain medications, which could be life-threatening.

Addressing these concerns, Nandita reassured that she had followed her doctor’s prescription and had no reason to worry.
