The recipe for Alia Bhatt’s favourite cake, which gained fame after the actress shared her fondness for it during an interview months ago, has been unveiled by a food blogger on Instagram. The cake, which garnered attention when Bhatt recounted how her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, surprised her with it during their shoot in Bulgaria, has now become a sensation in the online culinary community.
During the interview, Bhatt reminisced about the sweet gesture from Kapoor, revealing, “He was my boyfriend then. We were shooting for a movie in the middle of Bulgaria. There’s a particular milk cake from L’Eto in London that I’m obsessed with, and he flew the cake from London to Bulgaria so that I could cut it on my birthday.” Her heartfelt recounting of the special moment piqued the interest of fans and food lovers worldwide.
The eagerly awaited recipe was shared by a food blogger through a video posted on Instagram. The step-by-step guide demonstrated the process of recreating the viral cake in one’s kitchen.
The video begins with the addition of vinegar to milk, followed by combining sugar, curd, oil, and vanilla essence in a bowl. A mixture of flour, baking soda, and baking powder is then sifted into the same bowl, and the prepared milk and vinegar mixture are added before everything is thoroughly mixed. After greasing the tin and lining it with parchment paper, the batter is poured in and then baked at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius for approximately 20 minutes. The cake is then soaked with a mixture of condensed milk, milk and fresh cream before being topped with whipped cream and slices of fresh strawberries.
