Often content creators go to great lengths to make Instagram reels. Recently, a man from Uttar Pradesh decided to incorporate a police jeep in his reel. This video landed him in trouble as he was later arrested for getting inside the police vehicle that was parked in Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram area. Reportedly, the police jeep was in the area when the police were called to clear the traffic.
Content creator Moin Qureshi saw the parked vehicle as an opportunity to make an Instagram reel. As per NDTV, the action was taken on a complaint filed by an officer, Sub Inspector Suresh Maurya. Qureshi later removed the video from his Instagram, which had a Hindi audio track laid over it.
In the now-deleted video, Qureshi was seen in a three-piece maroon suit. The 14-second clip was reportedly shot in two parts that were then clubbed together. In the first part, Qureshi got down from a Mahindra Bolero, a common SUV employed by the state police. He then looked into the camera and stylishly adjusted his suit before taking out his phone and running a hand through his hair. In the second part of the video, he again got down from the police jeep while holding an energy drink. He ran his hand through his hair and took a sip of the energy drink, before the reel ended.
This is not the first time that police have taken action against individuals for using police vehicles for social media videos. In May last year, a video that showed two youngsters sitting on a police jeep’s bonnet with the blue beacon light flashing in the background went viral. As the young men flaunted their control over the official vehicle, the Bollywood song Jalwa Re Jalwa from the movie Sarkar Raj was played in the background.
After this video began circulating on X, Police Commissioner Kanpur Nagar responded to the matter and said that legal action had been sought against the individuals seen in the video. The probe found out that the jeep was sent for repair works at a garage and that was probably when the youths created the video with the jeep.
Similarly, in September, a police officer in Punjab got in trouble after he let an influencer make Instagram reels while sitting and posing on a police jeep’s bonnet. In one of the clips, the influencer danced to the popular Punjabi song Ghaint Jatti. To make matters worse, she showed her middle finger to the camera while being seated in the police vehicle. This gesture was considered highly abusive.

Taking cognisance of this matter, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Kuldeep Chahal suspended SHO Ashok Sharma for letting the girl use the official vehicle.
In recent years, the law enforcement agency has urged the public to not create social media content while driving on roads as it endangers them and can also cause accidents.
