A man bought an abandoned storage unit for $410 (Rs 34,234) at an auction and was shocked to find its real worth, after estimating the cost of the items present inside. It contained designer clothes worth $70,000 (Rs 58.4 lakh). Wade Venture, 37, from Portland, Oregon bought the container at an auction with little idea of what it contained. The treasure trove contained 400 pairs of footwear from brands such as Gucci and Coach. The list doesn’t end here. He also found $8,000 ( Rs 6.67 lakh) worth of fur coats and other items with price tags. The majority of items were brand new. Being a full-time content creator, Wade Venture uploaded the video of him opening a storage unit and sharing the brand-new treasures within. He shared the video on his YouTube channel, Wades Venture.
As per media reports, Wade has started reselling items with one coat that sold second-hand for $1500 (1.25 lakh). He was shocked to find such pricey and rare items in the locker room. Recounting his experience, Wade Venture said that it is difficult to find such units as often you find household items or trash. While going through the items at his newly bought storage unit, he found a bunch of handbags, two silver vases with price tags, branded bed sheets, footwear, home appliances and many other items. In the video, he speculated that the owner of the storage unit must have a shopping addiction or maybe she was keeping it away from her husband.
Wade Venture bought the unit on March 27. Before buying, he only saw a few pictures of the entrance of the storage unit. He bought the storage unit on his hunch. Having bought 400-500 units in the past, much of the contents of which were donated to charity, he said that this little came as a shock.
“Normally I find things 30 percent new and 70 percent used but this was all brand new. It was such an awesome experience, I was so shocked. She wasn’t just buying run-of-the-mill stuff, she was shopping at Macy’s and JCPenney," claimed Wade Venture.
