With an incredible fanbase and a strong squad at their disposal, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are one of the most-followed franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Despite their stellar presence off the field, the Bengaluru-based side, during their 16-year-long journey, have not been able to win the IPL trophy yet. Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans have also developed a strong connection with the team for Virat Kohli.

Now, an Indian student recently proved the point when she appeared at her graduation ceremony with a Royal Challengers Bengaluru jersey. Recognised as a die-hard Kohli fan, Likhitha Suggala, who is staying in the United States, appeared on the stage with the latest red and blue RCB kit. After she got the degree certificate, Suggala unfolded the jersey and proudly flaunted it in front of the audience.

The trend was set by a senior student of the same university, Ruthvik Sankar. After he was handed out the degree, Sankar waved an RCB flag on the stage. At that time, his gesture created a lot of buzz on social media. Following Sankar’s footsteps, Likhitha Suggala has now shown her loyalty towards RCB.

A video featuring the moment was shared on her Instagram handle with a caption that read, “Royal Challengers Bengaluru is a team that taught us many things beyond cricket, 15 years strong, and still standing by my team’s side, true loyalty knows no defeat! Just a junior continuing the ritual started by her senior Ruthvik Sankar. Hope my juniors would do the same.”

Under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have not been able to do anything impressive so far this season. They have registered three victories in ten appearances so far in the ongoing edition of the IPL.

Despite RCB’s below-par performance, Virat Kohli has been in good touch. He is currently the second-highest run-scorer in the competition, following the Orange Cap holder and Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. Kohli has racked up a total of 500 runs so far at an average of 71.42 in IPL 2024. He will next be seen in action when RCB take on Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru on May 4.
