Five Friends Came Together for a Watch Party in Kansas, 3 Mysteriously Froze to Death Outside Guest’s Home
David Harrington, Ricky Johnson, Clayton McGeeney and Alex Weamer-Lee were at Jordan Willis’ home for a watch party. The first three were found frozen to death outside Willis’ home.

A group of Kansas City Chiefs fans organised a watch party to watch the final game of the regular season. Out of that group who gathered on January 7 for the watch party, three never came back home.

On January 9, the families of David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38 and Clayton McGeeney, 36, received calls from law enforcement officials telling them that these three were found outside a friend’s home in the Kansas City Northland.

They were found outside the rental home of Jordan Willis. Willis’ attorney John Picerno has told US news media outlets that his client had no idea that the men froze to death outside.

On January 7, CNN Weather reported that Kansas City experienced a high of approximately 2.8°C, a low of approximately -1.7°C, and trace amounts of rain and snow. By the early morning of the 8th, temperatures hovered around freezing, accompanied by some snowfall.

Picerno said his client slept for nearly 48 hours after the game and only learned that the bodies were there when police visited the home for a welfare check after families of the three now-deceased men called them after calls and text messages went unanswered for over two days.

“There’s no allegation of any animosity between Jordan and his three friends,” Picerno said of the trio, two of whom he’d known since his high school days.

“(Police officers) responded to the back porch and confirmed there was a dead body. Upon further investigation, officers located two other dead bodies in the backyard,” a police statement said. The police said they acted after they received a call from the fiancee of one of the three dead men. The police also said that Willis was cooperative.

A separate report by the New York Post said that there was a fifth person who was present at the watch party. He has been identified as Alex Weamer-Lee.

Alex Weamer-Lee told the newspaper that when he left all four of them were up watching television.

David Harrington’s parents do not buy the timeline. “So when did he actually die? I mean, there’s 48 hours in there. We just haven’t figured out how yet. … What else could it be? Perfectly healthy men don’t just drop off the face of the Earth,” Jon Harington, David’s father, told US media outlets. His mother, Jennifer Marquez, also said that she believes Willis may have had something to do with the death of her son.

The Kansas City Police Department said they do not suspect foul play as detectives await autopsy and toxicology reports.

Two weeks after the deaths the mystery continues to puzzle the Kansas City community.
