Jimmy Uso squared off agaisnt AJ Styles in the main event of the episode, while the women’s segment saw Charlotte Flair and Shotzi take on Damage CTRL in a tag-team match.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown was brought to you on September 8 live from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The episode saw Jimmy Uso make a return to a single fight since beating Matt Riddle on May 1. He took on AJ Styles in the main event of SmackDown. The women’s segment saw Charlotte Flair and Shotzi take on Damage CTRL in a tag-team match. On the other hand, Judgement Day competed in a non-title match against Butch and Ridge Holland. Butch had returned after spending two weeks competing in the Global Heritage Invitational on WWE NXT. LA Knight also featured in the show, going into a one-on-one action against Austin Theory later that night.

Charlotte Flair & Shotzi vs. Bayley & Iyo Sky:

Flair and Bayley kicked off the fight just as the bell rang. The two just shoved into each other before Flair delivered a chop and boot. Following some back-and-forth action, Flair attacked Bayley and Sky with a crossbody slam off the top rope. She followed it up with a Fallaway Slam to Bayley. Flair then launched a clothesline before Sky tagged herself in and came up with a hurricanrana. Towards the closing stages, Shotzi took over the charge and secured a pinfall victory with a DDT.

LA Knight vs. Austin Theory:

Grayson Waller took a commentary seat as Knight and Theory appeared inside the ring. After some shoulder tackles, Theory went for an elbow drop but Knight ducked out of the way and delivered a DDT. He then hit Theory with a dropkick from the middle rope, taking the action outside. Waller then suddenly hopped onto the ring and exposed a turnbuckle to distract the referee. However, Knight was aware enough to prevent himself from going shoulder-first into the exposed corner. He countered with the BFT to pick up the win.

Finn Balor & Damian Priest vs Butch & Ridge Holland:

Balor started the action against Butch as he fired off with hammer and anvil elbows. Butch responded with a suplex before setting up for The Bitter End. Balor managed to counter before Holland got tagged in. He took another German suplex before Dominik got hit by the Ten Beats of the Bodhran. However, Balor eventually recovered and delivered the Coup De Grace to Holland for a pinfall win.

Jimmy USO vs. AJ Styles:

Jimmy went hard on Styles as he began the fight with a superkick attempt. Styles then tried to bounce back by delivering a forearm. Jimmy landed a back elbow before Styles could launch a kick from the bottom rope. Jimmy then hit Styles with a backbody drop and followed it up with a Hip Attack. Styles then received a superkick on the apron but managed to survive. He countered with the Phenomenal Forearm to finally seal the deal.
