The top automotive giant Hyundai is all set to add another big model to its global EV lineup. It has been reported the company is on the path to introduce its much-awaited Ioniq 9 globally.
The introduction of the upcoming EV is likely to take place later this year. However, the company has not disclosed any official dates as yet. It is expected to make an announcement soon.
Rivals
According to the reports, Ioniq 9 will hit the market in a seven-seating configuration and will give tough competition to Kia’s upcoming EV9, which is scheduled to launch on October 3 this year in India.
The battery-powered model will also compete against the Volvo EX90 and the BMW’s tech-loaded iX.
Initially, some reports suggested that the Hyundai was planning to release the vehicle under the nameplate Ioniq. Later, the brand named it Ioniq 9 as the former name implied lesser compared to EV9.
Battery Figures
The model will use the same e-GMP platform, featuring a 99.8kWh battery pack, and paired dual-motor. The setup will generate a maximum power of 641 bhp with an impressive torque. It is expected to be offered in four-wheel-drive powertrain.
Design
Talking about the overall road presence, it will flaunt a round shape, ditching the edgy presence as EV9. It is safe to say that the statement statement will offer a similar look to the Hyundai Seven concept. However, the frameless windows and rear suicide doors will be missing in the production model.
