There are not many naturally aspirated supercars in India. But post 2010 we have seen many come to India. Audi kept to its promise of getting the new R8 V10 Plus to India when it was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo this year.
The 5.2 litre V10 powered Audi R8 Plus has finally arrived in India at a whopping Rs 2.60 crore ex-showroom Karnataka. The car features Audi’s Quattro along with a 5.2 FSI V10 mid-engine that churns out 610 hp. The car is capable of going from 0-blurr (100km/h) in just 3.2 seconds. Audi claims that the top speed of the new R8 is 330 km/h and we are in no doubt about that. We could achieve a straight line speed of 260 km/h easily on a remote airstrip near Karnataka.

Apart from the mammoth engine and power output the Audi R8 V10 Plus also offers features like cylinder on demand, casting mode, dual fuel injection and a 13% lower fuel consumption than the previous R8 in India.
The car has a seven-speed S-tronic sift-by-wire transmission system and high performance ceramic brakes. There is also Audi Drive Select dynamic handling system in place with four standard modes and three additional performance modes.
This is not just a regular sports car but also has a lot of high-end gadgetry inside it. The car comes with laser headlights and dynamic turn indicators, Audi phone box and sound system from Bang & Olufsen as standard.
There is also a second generation modular infotainment system on board along with Audi’s MMI infotainment system. And yes you also get Audi’s virtual cockpit that is also available on Audi TT and the recently launched Audi Q7.
The two seat supercar looks quite similar to the outgoing model but the most distinct revamp is the front grille of the R8 V10 Plus.
And yes, if you are spending in excess of Rs 2 crore you obviously get customisation options for the interiors.
The car will be produced at Audi BollingetHofe production site in Neckarsulm, Germany. The New Audi R8 V10 Plus in India competes with the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLS and Lamborghini Huracan.
