Anil Ambani appointed to Warwick Business School
Ambani has become the first Indian to be a part of the well-known British institution's board.

London: Billionaire business tycoon Anil Ambani has been appointed to the board of Warwick Business School, becoming the first Indian to be a part of the well-known British institution's board.

Ambani, who steers the diversified Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has accepted the invitation and been appointed as a board member of Warwick Business School, according to sources in-the-know.

He is the first Indian to be on the board of Warwick Business School, one of the top UK institutions and the largest academic department of the University of Warwick, they said. Sir George Cox is Pro-Chancellor of the University and Chair of the University Council.

An MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the 52-year-old Ambani is also on the board of various other prestigious institutions in India and overseas.

Students of various nationalities, including many Indians, are pursuing their studies at Warwick Business School, which offers undergraduate, masters, MBA and PhD programmes.

Ambani is also on the Wharton Board of University of Pennyslyvania, apart from being on the boards of Indian School of Business, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. He has also served as a Rajya Sabha member.

Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, which has interests in various areas, including telecom, power and infrastructure, has assets of over Rs 1,80,000 crore and a net worth of about Rs 89,000 crore, as per the group website.
