Flying Wedge Defense and Aerospace (FWDA) was established in 2022. Starting with the dream of making the country self-reliant in the field of defence, this company has recently introduced the first manned bomber aircraft manufactured in the country. Its name is ‘FWD 200B’. Its successful flight was announced on Tuesday.

According to the press release issued by the company, it has become the first company in the country to receive DGCA-type certification for developing indigenous UAV technology.

This company was founded in Bangalore. Its founder’s name is Suhas Tejaskand, who is also the current CEO of the company. Trinetra, the surveillance drone; Narakayan, the killer aircraft; Rudra, the fixed-wing VTOL; Vijay, the drone catcher; FWD10, the agriculture drone; and Vyuha, the swarm drone. The company claims that one can locate their farm by going to its app, and then with the help of their drone, one can spray whatever they want on the farm with just one click.

About the bomber:

This is the first unmanned bomber manufactured in the country. It can fly with a load of 30 kg. Its length is 3.5 meters, and the wingspan is 5 meters. The maximum load it can carry while flying is 102 kg.

According to the company’s founder, Tejaskand, its maximum speed is 250 kilometres per hour. It needs only a 300-meter runway to fly. According to some reports, a similar bomber from the US costs around Rs 250 crore, but its price has been kept at only Rs 150 crore.

FWD 200B offers extended mission capabilities:

1. The FWD 200B is designed for extended missions with a range of up to 800 km and an endurance of seven hours.
