Sirsa: The booming SEZ market in Haryana got a new boost as the government has decided to provide additional facilities to those developers who would set up SEZs in the backward areas.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday announced that 50 per cent land would be acquired by the government for a SEZ in a backward area.
He also added that and an added concession would also be given under the local area development tax.
He said that the government had chalked out a policy for setting up of SEZs under which the developers would have to rehabilitate the villagers besides providing basic amenities in the villages.
Sirsa district had been declared backward according to the new industrial policy announced by the government in 2005, he pointed out.
