Users of HDFC bank credit cards need to know that come August 1, using their credit cards for transactions will become a tad more expensive. A fee will be applied to all rental transactions made through third-party payment apps like CRED, Paytm, Mobikwik, and Freecharge, with a cap of Rs 3,000 per transaction.
These new rules will take effect on August 1. Additionally, educational payments will become more costly, as a 1 per cent fee will now apply to payments through third-party apps. However, there will be no charge for transactions made through college or school websites, their POS machines, or for international educational payments.
For fuel payments, if the amount is less than Rs 15,000 and made with an HDFC Bank credit card, no extra fee will be charged. For payments exceeding Rs 15,000, a 1 per cent fee will be added, capped at Rs 3,000 per transaction. When paying utility bills with an HDFC Bank credit card, no extra charge will apply for transactions below Rs 50,000. For payments over Rs 50,000, a 1% fee will be charged, with a maximum limit of Rs 3,000 per transaction. The late payment fee structure has been revised based on the outstanding amount, which will range from Rs 100 to Rs 300.
If you are a user of the Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card or the Tata Neu Plus HDFC Bank Credit Card, there’s important news you should be aware of. Starting August 1, there will be significant changes to the cashback structure for UPI payments made using these credit cards.
Specifically, if you make UPI payments by linking these credit cards to the Tata Neu app, you will receive increased benefits in the form of higher cashback rates or additional rewards. This change aims to encourage users to utilise the Tata Neu app for their transactions, thereby enhancing the app’s ecosystem and providing better value to its users.
On the other hand, if you choose to link your Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card or Tata Neu Plus HDFC Bank Credit Card to other UPI apps, you will receive reduced benefits. This means that the cashback rates or rewards you earn will be lower compared to those earned through the Tata Neu app. The adjustment is designed to steer users towards the Tata Neu app, possibly as part of a broader strategy to consolidate user engagement and loyalty within the Tata Neu ecosystem.
