After five straight victories in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, title favourites Australia will aim to continue the streak when they face Afghanistan. In their previous match, the Mitchell Marsh-led side put up a dominant show against Bangladesh.
Australia kept Bangladesh to 140/8 after opting to bat first in their first match of Super 8 stage. David Warner then scored a 35-ball 53 to seal a comfortable victory.
A win against Afghanistan will take Australia a step closer towards sealing the semi-final spot.
Afghanistan’s Super 8 clash against Australia will be played at the Arnos Vale Stadium. The Rashid Khan-led Afghans began their tournament with a string of good performances to bag three successive victories.
They eventually lost their final group game to the West Indies by 101 runs. They India then beat them by 47 runs earlier this week.
