Babar Azam Reacts After His Replacement Kamran Ghulam Scores 118 On Test Debut Against England
29-year-old Kamran Ghulam came out to bat at No. 4 for the Shan Masood-led side in the first innings of the ongoing second Test against England in Multan, and during his 224-ball stay at the crease, he scored 118 runs.

Babar Azam was left out of Pakistan’s squad for the last two Tests against England on Sunday (October 13), and in his place, Kamran Ghulam got a chance to play for the Shan Masood-led side in the ongoing second Test at Multan Cricket Stadium. The 29-year-old right-handed batter made the most of the opportunity and scored a century on his Test debut.

He crossed the 100-run mark with a boundary on the last ball of the 74th over. During his stay at the crease on the first day of the second Test, Ghulam faced a total of 224 balls and, with the help of 11 fours and one six, scored 118 runs.

The century on his Test debut helped Ghulam become the 13th Pakistani batter to cross the triple-figure mark in his first red-ball match. After Ghulam made headlines on Tuesday for his super knock with the bat, former Pakistani captain and star batter Babar Azam took to Instagram to share a story for him and praised his knock.

In a post that is now going viral on the internet, Babar shared a picture of Ghulam celebrating his century and captioned it, “Well played Kamran!”

Here’s a look at Babar Azam’s reaction after his replacement Kamran Ghulam scored a century on his Test debut against England:

Babar, who is one of the best batters of present times, was dropped from Pakistan’s squad for the last two Tests due to his poor form in Test cricket. The star right-handed batter, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Tuesday, hasn’t scored a fifty even in the five-day format of the game in his last 18 innings.

In the series opener against England, which the visitors won by an innings and 47 runs in Multan last week, Babar scored 30 runs in the first inning and got out after making five in the second.

Apart from Babar, pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah were also axed from the squad for the last two Tests. However, Pakistan’s assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, while speaking to reporters in a pre-match press conference on Monday, said the trio was rested and not dropped from the side.
