Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s miraculous turnaround in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has intensified the playoff race. After KKR booked a berth in Qualifier 1, three more spots are up for grabs with five teams in contention. RCB, currently placed 5th on the table, will have one last shot at the qualifications when they face defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chinnaswamy on Saturday.
CSK are one victory away from advancing to the next stage of the tournament. On the other hand, RCB also need a win to keep themselves breathing in the playoff race. But at the same time, the likes of RR, SRH, DC and LSG are also in the fray and will be pushing their cases in the final week of the IPL 2024 league stage.
The RCB vs CSK encounter would be a virtual knockout and the fans can’t wait for the mouth-watering Southern derby this weekend. However, the Bengaluru weather may play the spoilsport and the results could be heartbreaking for the hosts, just like what Gujarat Titans went through on Monday night.

Bengaluru weather prediction for May 18
As per AccuWeather.com, the capital city of Karnataka is likely to experience a thunderstorm in the afternoon with a couple of showers.
In the evening, the temperature will be around 23 degrees Celsius with a 100 percent cloud cover and the probability of precipitation will be around 47 percent.
The temperature later in the night shall drop by a degree without any change in the cloud cover. The chances of precipitation are above 60 percent, along with the thunderstorm.
What if the RCB vs CSK match gets washed out?
If Saturday’s game at Chinnaswamy gets abandoned due to rain, both teams will share a point each. It won’t suffice for RCB as they’ll be eliminated with 13 points. CSK will end the season with 15 points but that will not guarantee a qualification. If LSG and SRH win both their remaining games, it will be the end of the journey for the defending champions this season.
