The Indian Army has started the recruitment process for the post of religious teachers and the last date to apply is March 22.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises three rounds: the initial round involves a computer-based test conducted online, followed by physical and medical tests in the second round and finally, an interview round. Candidates must clear the written exam by scoring a minimum of 40% to progress to subsequent rounds.

Application Fee

An application fee of Rs 250 is applicable, along with additional banking charges. Candidates can make the payment through debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria vary according to the religious designation. Pandits must hold a Shastri or Acharya degree with rituals as the main subject or a one-year diploma in rituals from a UGC-recognised university. Granthis need to be a graduates with proficiency in Punjabi. Maulvis require qualifications in Arabic or Urdu disciplines. Pastors must be graduates with priesthood experience. Buddhist monks should hold a graduation degree and be recognised as a monks by the chief priest of a monastery.\

Age Limit and Physical Criteria

Candidates must fall within the age range of 27-34 years as of October 1, 2024 and should have been born between October 1990 and 1997. Physical criteria include height requirements varying from 155 cm to 160 cm for different categories, with a chest measurement of 77 cm for all.
