The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has issued a notification for the direct recruitment of Assistant Professors in the Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service. Eligible candidates can apply on the official website at trb.tn.gov.in starting from March 28. The application deadline for the TN TRB Assistant Professor recruiting drive is April 29 (5 p.m.), as per the notification. The recruitment drive aims to fill 4,000 Assistant Professor positions at government Arts, Science, and Education colleges.

TN TRB Assistant Professor Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria
The recruitment notification includes the educational qualifying requirements for each subject-specific appointment. In general, a candidate’s age should be less than 57 years in order to be eligible. The entire application process has to be done online. TRB will not accept any other application forms. Candidates must provide a valid e-mail address and mobile phone number upon registering, and the e-mail address must be kept active for subsequent correspondence. Incomplete or defective applications will be rejected. Further, no letter or representation regarding rejection will be accepted under any circumstances.
TN TRB Assistant Professor Recruitment 2024: Selection Process
To choose candidates, the TRB will first conduct a written test, followed by interviews. The written examination is for 200 marks and consists of two papers: Paper 1 carries 100 marks and is divided into two halves. Section A contains 50 required questions for one mark each, 25 of which are from Tamil and 25 from General Knowledge, including Current Affairs. Section B is two hours long and includes eight descriptive-type questions about the themes selected. Candidates must attempt any five. Each question carries 10 points.
Paper 2 is also divided into two sections. Section A consists of 50 multiple-choice questions worth one mark each, with a one-hour time limit. Section B contains eight long questions at ten points each, and candidates must attempt any five within two hours. The questions in this paper will be about the subject. The interview round carries 30 points. To qualify, general category candidates must score at least 40 per cent. For other categories, it is 30 per cent.
