Mahima Chaudhry's Father Got To Know About Her Cancer Diagnosis Through An Interview

Ever since Mahima Chaudhry opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis in 2022, the actress continues to remain vocal about her battle with the disease. In a recent revelation, Mahima shared that she had kept the diagnosis hidden from her parents as well and also how they reacted upon finding the news. During the conversation with Brut India, Mahima also shared that it was during the lockdown when her mother was battling with Parkinson’s disease and chest infection, while her father was also hospitalised.

“Shortly after, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I struggled with how to tell my parents, especially since both my mom and dad were already unwell,” she told the outlet. It was from a video shared by Anupam Kher that her father eventually got to know about the diagnosis.

“When I got to know about the condition, I was like, ‘Why tell them?’ My relatives knew about it, but I didn’t tell my parents,” she added, further revealing how she managed to shave off her head at that time.

“He found out about my cancer through one of my interviews. My daughter called me to say that he was watching the video and saw me talking about my journey. When I confronted him to check his reaction, he reassured me, saying, ‘Yes, I watched the whole interview. You said you’re fine now and have recovered,” she continued.

Despite coming through a major health setback, Mahima Chaudhry had a courageous fight against her cancer and made it out of it. Speaking to TOI in 2022, she confirmed about recovering from it a few months ago, further detailing how her daughter came out as her biggest support at that time. Over the years, while the actress continues to create awareness about breast cancer, she has shown her support for many, including Hina Khan.

Mahima recently visited Hina Khan in the hospital and shared her own experiences with her. “She has been there With me, guiding me, motivating me and illuminating my Path before me during this toughest phase of my life. She is a Hero. She is a Super Human Being. She went out of her way to make sure my journey was Easier than hers, she lifted my spirits and comforted me every step of the Way,” Hina wrote on Instagram.
