The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued the official notice for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 on February 14. The online registration process started on the same day and will conclude on March 5, 2024. Through this recruitment exam, a total of 1,056 vacancies are expected to be filled, out of which 40 vacancies are reserved for the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwPD) category. Interested candidates can fill out the application form by visiting the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.

This year, the commission made changes to the candidate photo uploading process that should be noted.

UPSC CSE 2024:  New Guidelines and Changes

–– Candidates must ensure that the photograph they upload is less than 10 days old from the start of the online application process.

–– Candidates must ensure that the applicant’s name and the date the photograph was taken are visible on the photograph.

–– The photo that is selected for uploading should show the candidate’s face for at least 3/4 of the image.

–– Candidates must ensure that their appearance matches their photograph at each stage of the examination process (which is a preliminary exam, main exam, interview/personality round).

Interested candidates should make sure to check for these changes in photo uploading and complete the application if they want to apply for UPSC CSE 2024.

UPSC CSE 2024: Steps To Apply

Step 1: Go to the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Search for the UPSC CSE 2024 notification link that is currently available on the homepage. Then click on the link.

Step 3: A PDF file will open displaying the prelim exam notification on the screen. On another page, you will find the application form.

Step 4: First, register yourself then fill out the form as asked.

Step 5: Upload all the essential documents and pay the application fees.

Step 6: Cross-check the details provided and submit the form.

Candidates will need to pay an application fee of Rs 100 to apply for the exam. Those under SC, ST, or who have a benchmark disability along with women candidates are not required to pay fees. The payment can be made in cash at any State Bank of India (SBI) branch, via any bank’s Net Banking service, or with a credit card, debit card, Visa, Master, RuPay, or UPI payment.

As per the schedule, the UPSC CSE 2024 prelims exam will be held on May 26. Candidates who clear the preliminary exams will then have to appear for the Civil Services (Main) Examination. The Main exam will be held on October 19, 2024.
