Nidhi Chandak, a Senior Faculty of Interior Designing Department of Raipur-based DSIFD Institute, shared in an interview that interior designing is not all about decorating a house or a place. It is a form of art that is related to science and technology. In interior design, it is important to give a personal touch, along with beauty and functionality. At present, the job scope in interior design is immense. From designing apartments and bungalows to public places, offices, restaurants, cafes, hotels and much more, there is a lot of scope.
The expert further added that there is no age bar for studying and learning or wanting to become a designer. If you want to enrol for a course, the minimal requirement for you is to have completed your Class 10. After that, you can enrol in the course. If you want to do a course, you can get work in many places. In fact, one can also start their own business. You can venture into aesthetic stores, logo designing, and graphic designing as well.
If one is looking to pursue a course from DSIFD, then the expert informs that in this institute there are different degrees and durations for a course. There is a year-long course whose fee is Rs 70,000. Then, there is a 2-year course, whose fee is Rs 1.40 lakh. A 3-year degree course is offered at Rs 2.70 lakh. The fee is Rs 90,000 per year for the three-year course.
