With the Premier League 2024-25 season kicking off tonight, August 16, the first deadline of the season is already looming upon Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players. This means you now have a few hours to tinker with your FPL team. It also leaves you with limited time to get your head around, potentially the biggest, rule changes in the video game’s history. The game was first introduced in the 2002-03 football season and has not seen many major changes. However, this time the game developers decided to alter the ‘free transfers’ rules while adding a mystery chip to make the game more open. What are the new FPL rules?
The biggest change in the FPL this season is an increased number of free transfers. Previously, the game only allowed players to bank two free transfers, making the restrictive to those who wanted to change their teams significantly. This new change allows you to keep these transfers when playing a chip such as a wild card and a free hit.
