Milan fuming after Real's Kaka offer
AC Milan is furious with Madrid after a deal being offered to Kaka.

New Delhi: It's that time of the year when football clubs fight to sign up the stars of the game. Italian club AC Milan is reportedly furious with Real Madrid for what is a reportedly an eye-popping deal being offered to their star player Kaka of Brazil.

Over the next few days, Kaka might just have to keep his arms to himself. He will need all the help he can get to hold on the the bundles of cash headed his way. This after Real Madrid reportedly offered a world record 80 million euros for the Brazilian. And though Milan are furious with the news, Spanish media have made sure they logged greater eyeballs with the story.

Kaka's spokesman Diogo Kotscho told Spanish daily AS, "Kaka does not rule out a transfer to Madrid and I don't rule out that he will play there this year. He will be very happy either at Madrid or Milan."

The enormous amounts of money being pumped into the football market isn't a good sign though, for the general health of the game. Big names in the English Premiership earn more than the annual budgets of most clubs that play in the Champions League.

"They pay them extremely high salaries, and then they expect results. Then they will also take the best coach, putting pressure on the players to play. And because there is so much money, the president of the club then comes and tells the player, 'if you win today, you will get a bonus'," FIFA President Sepp Blatter told CNN-IBN in an interview.

However, if Madrid are able to pull off Kaka's deal, it could be the most expensive transfer in the history of football. In fact, Real itself paid 75 million euros ($119 million) to Juventus to snare French star Zinedine Zidane in 2001.

Money aside, Serie A's loss would be La Liga's gain.
