Romania are set to return to the European Championship since suffering a group-league elimination in 2016. In their upcoming Euro 2024 appearance, Romania have been pooled in Group E. They will kick off their campaign with a match against Ukraine, who are featuring in the competition for the fourth consecutive time.
The Group E fixture between Romania and Ukraine will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Monday, June 17. Romania made a strong statement in the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. They remained unbeaten in the league stage and finished at the top of their group.
Ukraine, on the other hand, secured a third-place finish in their group which also had heavyweights like England and Italy. Ukraine faced Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland in the playoffs and won on both occasions.
Ahead of the Euro 2024, Romania played two warm-up matches against Bulgaria and Liechtenstein. Romania was defensively impressive in both games but failed to open the scoring, with the fixture ending in a goalless draw.
