Steps

Backing Up Music to iCloud

Open your iPhone or iPad's Settings iPhone Settings App Icon. You'll usually find this app on the home screen. If you want to back up your Apple Music songs, see this method instead.

Tap your Apple ID. It's at the top of the menu.

Tap iCloud.

Tap iCloud Backup.

Slide the “iCloud Backup” switch to iPhone Switch On Icon On. If the switch was already on/green, you can skip this step.

Tap Backup Now. This will back up all of your iPhone or iPad's data, including your music, to iCloud.

Enabling iCloud Music Library for Apple Music

Open your iPhone or iPad's Settings iPhone Settings App Icon. You'll usually find this app on the home screen.

Scroll down and tap Music.

Slide the “iCloud Music Library” switch to iPhone Switch On Icon On. A set of options will appear. You will only see this option if you have an Apple Music subscription.

Select Keep music. This keeps the music on your iPhone or iPad, even after copying it all to iCloud. Your Apple Music will now back up to iCloud.
