KOTTAYAM: Three accidents, occurred at different locations in the district on Monday, have left as many as 29 people, including the district medical officer (DMO), injured. In a collision between a lorry and a car on the MC road, DMO Ayisha Bhai suffered head injuries. She was admitted to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital along with the car driver Chandran. In the second accident, a Pathanamthitta-bound luxury bus collided with a mini lorry at Manippuzha, injuring 12 people. The injured have been admitted to various private hospitals in the town. The Chingavanam police registered a case against the bus driver Babu, a native of Erode. In another incident, a KSRTC bus rammed into a parked lorry on the Kottayam-Pala state highway near Malakara Kalunk, injuring 15 people. The condition of one of the victims is said to be critical.
