THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar has announced that administrative sanction has been given to various tourism development projects, including Rs 85 lakh development project for Kumaranasan’s native house.A total of Rs 4.63 crore has been sanctioned for tourism-related development projects including Rs 55 lakh for eco-development project at Arippa and Rs 58.5 lakh for the development of Kadalukanippara Tourist centre in the Karette-Kallara route near Kilimanoor. The eco-tourism project at Chollarkovil in Idukki district has been sanctioned Rs 42.96 lakh. As much as Rs 2 crore has been sanctioned for the renovation of the Foodcraft Institute. Rs 21.68 lakh has been set apart for the feasibility studies on the development of water sports in the state.The Arippa eco-development project includes renovation of Rest House, and setting up of  information centre, cloak rooms, Swiss cottage tents, construction of a new dormitory, pathway near inspection bungalow, check dam, bathing ghat, toilet block, bamboo hut, fresh water supply and nature watch facilities.The construction launch of development activities at Kadalukanippara will begin on June 6. It includes improving nature watching facilities, construction of pavilion, pathways, seating facilities, parking facilities, street lights, steps to the rock, toilet facilities and also fencing and landscaping.At Chollarkovil, a watch tower with a telescope will be set up, beautification, setting up of windmills to generate electricity, coffee shop with forest produce on sale and a gateway will also be set up. Huts with medicinal climbers, a borewell, ticket counter and renovation of information centre are also being planned.
