New Delhi: The racism row kickstarted on UK reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother threatens to make more heads roll, perhaps ahead of their time.
After Indian actor Shilpa Shetty’s “chief tormentor” Jade Goody was thrown out of the “house” by an overwhelming 82 per cent public vote, it’s now the turn of model Dannielle Lloyd.
Largely perceived as another “bully” on the show, 23-year-old Lloyd may now be shown the door amid accusations of a "coached" peacemaking session between her and Shilpa.
But despite the hug-kiss-makeup session, the fans of the former Miss UK are said to be disgusted at her “cruel taunts”, the tabloid Daily Express reported.
Llyod and another "fellow-bully", 27-year-old Jo O'Meara are up for eviction from the reality show this week and can expect the type of backlash that greeted Jade Goody whose career has reached its fag end, thanks to the severe battering her image has taken.
Llyod, like Jade, is almost certain to face a career meltdown when she steps out of the Big Brother house to face questions over the racism allegations.
PTI reports her footballer boyfriend Teddy Sheringham is reported to have already dumped her over fears that his image could be ruined and modelling contracts cancelled.
The West Ham player is concerned that her ignorant outburst will damage relations with his non-white team mates, the report said.
In a television interview, she was quoted as being "shocked and disgusted" by her actions on the show and said "I hate myself, right now."
But she admitted that "Things that I may not think are racist can actually be racist".
