AR Infant likely as next DG&IGP

BANGALORE: Abdul Rehman Infant is likely to take over as the new DG and IGP of the state police as the state government has reportedly shortlisted a few names eligible for the post and sent it to the the UPSC to make customary recommendations to the government. Sources said, Infant has a better chance over other contenders including Shankar Bidari, DGP CID.Speaking to Express, Home Minister R Ashok informed that the government has not finalised any name as the UPSC has to take a call and send its recommendations.Sources added that, the state was in favour of appointing Infant as the new DG and IG of the state to replace Neelam Achutha Rao who would attain superannuation on Wednesday.
