A grand star studded event in the capital to mark the second anniversary of the Modi government is underway. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan highlighted the importance of educating the girl child at the event.
Union ministers Kiren Rijiju, Maneka Gandhi, Uma Bharti and actress Raveena Tandon spoke at the function.
Given the presence of VVIPs, NSG commandos are guarding the venue, India Gate. Quick action teams with Light Machine Guns have also formed a security perimeter.
India Gate is under round the clock surveillance and a centrally monitored control room is keeping a tab on the events. Entry for the event is restricted and no traffic diversions have been made by Delhi police.
