A “motionless” man floating in a pond in Telangana was discovered by locals, who quickly notified the authorities and the 108 paramedics. The incident happened near Hanamkonda’s Reddypuram Kovelakuntla. The man, a quarry worker, was reportedly found laying still in the water body for about five hours. However, there is a catch to this story. When officials and residents arrived at the location, they were met with an unexpected twist.
According to Indian Express, a team and emergency medical services hurried to the scene to rescue the man. A policeman is seen attempting to get the shirtless man out of the pond in the video, which was posted by a user on X (formerly Twitter).
The cop delicately started hauling the “body” ashore while holding it by hand as a crowd gathered at the scene. Abruptly awakened, the “body” turned to face the policeman, curious as to who was dragging him from the water. The police officers and everyone around the pond chuckled at the situation.

As per Telangana Today, the man—who was identified as a local of the Nellore District’s Kavali area—had chosen to take a nap in the water to relieve his fatigue.
The man informed the police officers he had gone into the lake to “relax” and that he was a labourer in a granite plant in Kazipet, the news outlet reported. “I work 12 hours a day. I was very tired.”
The news agency cited him as saying, “I wanted to relax for some time and so decided to lie in the water for some time.”
At that moment, the police informed him that individuals in the area had requested the police take his “body” since they believed he had passed away.
According to the report, the man further stated that he was not intoxicated and, in an intriguing move, asked the police officers to lend him Rs 50 so he could get home to Kazipet.
