Asia Pacific Group annual meet on July 19

KOCHI: Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the 14th Asia Pacific Group (APG) annual meeting, 2011, being hosted by India in Kochi on July 19. The Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering, an international organisation comprising 40 countries, is presently cochaired by India and Australia.
The meeting will be attended by around 350 delegates from the member countries and other International organisations. The APG is supported by organisations such as International Monetary Fund, World Bank, United Nations Office on Drugs, Financial Action Task Force and Crimes OECD. The organisation conducts research into moneylaundering and terrorist financing, assess the compliance of countries with international standards on antimoney laundering, assist in global policy development on antimoney laundering and antiterrorism.
