ANANTAPUR: In a shocking incident, an employee of Bank of Baroda, here was arrested for cheating the bank to the tune of Rs 36 lakh.According to Anantapur One Town SI M Pajerab, they took Veera Sekhar (45), a senior cashier, into custody based on the complaint from bank manager Ravi Krishna.Veera Sekhar has been working in Anantapur branch for the past four years.He raised several loans as he was reported to be addicted to several vices.With mounting pressure from creditors for the repayment of loans, Veera Sekhar decided to dupe the bank.As a senior cashier, he is entrusted with the duty of depositing the cash in the lockers and closing the day's transactions.When the branch manager found variations in the cash register and cash, he conducted an inquiry.He found that Veera Sekhar had been siphoning off cash while bundling them.He used to insert notes of `100 and `500 denominations in between `1000 notes.
