New Delhi: How great is your rear view? For all those women who constantly worry about whether their derriere is desireable or not, a psychology professor has devised a mathematical equation, which can give them a clear-rear picture.
David Holmes, a lecturer at the Manchester Metropolitan University in England, has invented a formula that quantifies the desirability of the derriere and possibly rivals e=mc2
Holmes developed his data as part of his work on evolutionary signals and roadsigns.
The formula may look complicated — (S+C) x (B+F) / (T-V) — but getting to the bottom is not very tough.
The formula uses a point-based grading system across six characteristics of overall shape.
So the S stands for Shape, C for circularity of buttocks, B for bounce, F for firmness, T for texture of the skin and V for vertical ratio.
So while a bowl of cherries could be just the right shape, those stuck with a not so round and flabby posterior need to hit that treadmill asap.
"The perfect female derriere has firmness to the touch and a resilience that prevents undue wobble or bounce, yet looks soft with flawless skin," Dr Holmes writes in his conclusions.
If your butt gets an 80 score, then it's perfect. If it's a 60, you can get into that swim suit and hit the beach.
However, if your butt rate is 40 then exercise is on the cards and anything below that needs to be worked upon immediately.
