Chak De girls in Goa for a noble cause
Chak De girls in Goa for a noble cause
The actresses will be the highlight of Chak De AIDS concert in Goa.

Goa: They are the new stars of India, the symbol of togetherness and the ambassadors of hockey.

After spreading their charisma through Chak De! India, the Chak De girls are in Goa for a different purpose.

They are here for an AIDS awareness campaign organised by Goa State AIDS Control Society (GSACS) and BIG 92.7 FM.

The girls believe their celebrity status has brought on a new sense of responsibility and it’s their duty to take up social issues.

“I used to do such activities when I was in college. But now it’s different. Now people are looking up to us,” says actress Shilpa Shukla.

“Its great to see that people are ready to listen what we are telling. We are here with a sense of social responsibility to spread a certain message among masses,” adds actress Shubhi Mehta.

But playing good samaritans doesn’t mean they are not enjoying their trip to the tourist paradise.

“We came here last time for new year. We saw many celebrities and said that next year we will be here as celebrities. Thankfully, that dream has come true and so its great to be here,” says actress, Arya Menon.

Hopefully, with the Chak De girls associated with this noble cause, the success of the film will rub off on the campaign as well.
