Anindyo Chattopadhyay makes his acting debut in Anik Dutta's 'Aschorjo Prodip'.

Kolkata: Enjoying every bit of his first role in Anik Dutta's 'Aschorjo Prodip', far divorced from setting musical scores and prolonged sessions in studio, lead band singer Anindyo Chattopadhyay says he would now wish to cast Anik in his first directorial feature.

"I play a musician present at an album launch programme by Anilabho (Saswata Chatterjee) whose fortunes turned after chancing upon the magic lamp. There can be shades of me in my first role but won't go beyond that," the award winner 'Antoheen' music director told PTI during a recording session of the film.

The frontman of popular band Chandrabindoo, sharing great rapport with the director of Bhooter Bhabisyot, which went on creating history in Bengali films, said "mine not a substantial role but I enjoyed my tryst with camera. Will be okay with more roles in his future films if asked."

"And I would also like to cast Anikda in my future film, my debut which resonates with the old-world charm and periodicity in north Kolkata about which I have many nostalgic accounts, at least in a cameo provided he agrees," he said.

Popular singer Raghab Chatterjee and Rupankar also act before camera as celebrities in the domain of performing arts in the movie.

"We were all floored by Bhooter Bhabisyot. We had also worked with Anikda when he was a gifted ad film maker. He is strongly influenced by Satyajit Ray. Happy with our stints in the movie," Rupankar said.
