St Lucia: Indian coach Greg Chappell hoped for clear skies when the fifth and final day of the second Test against the West Indies unfolds at Beaujour Stadium on Wednesday.
"If the (rain) god was a West Indian today, I hope it is an Indian tomorrow," said Chappell after the fourth day's play was called off on Tuesday.
India were in a commanding position when the third day closed with West Indies on 43 for one in the second knock, trailing by 373 on the first innings.
Chappell said his team had no control over the elements and he would now hope for enough play on Wednesday to get out a result.
"We have no control over the weather but we got them out in 80 overs in the first innings and hopefully a full day tomorrow would enable us to take nine remaining wickets."
Chappell was delighted with the development of his bowlers who have shown a remarkable control over line and length in the last couple of games.
He was similarly praiseful of his batsmen, three of whom hit centuries in the first innings.
There was still no let-up in the rain as the miserable Tuesday drew to a close. Sad for Indians, the forecast isn't too great for Wednesday either.
