Cheating case: Police nab duo

KOCHI: The city police arrested Sujith Kumar and Swaraj, both hailing from Hyderabad, for cheating a doctor of a private hospital here.According to A K Jamaludheen, Assistant Commissioner (Crime Detachment Wing), the accused befriended the doctor via online.One of the accused made the doctor believe that his sister was treated by him. After a few months, one of the accused took an amount of Rs 1.32 lakh from the doctor promising him to get a new car.Based on the doctor’s complaint, the investigation team arrested the duo from Hyderabad on May 2. The two were tracked using the details of their bank accounts.The police team later produced them before the Ernakulam CJM Court and were taken into police custody.
