MEDARAM (WARANGAL DISTRICT): The tribal festival got off to a colourful start with Saralamma being brought here from Kannepalli village amidst traditional fervor and gaiety. Saralamma arrived after 8.30 pm heralding the beginning of festivities, even as Govindaraju, her husband was brought from Kondai village of Eturunagarm. Head priest Kaka Saraiah and his assistants performed puja at Kannepalli and installed Saralamma at the gadde, while the mob went into frenzy. The priests will not reveal the form in which the deity will be brought. This time devotees believe that the Goddess will arrive in a box of vermilion. Saralamma's arrival is the most eagerly awaited event and devotees in lakhs paid their veneration thronging the twokm stretch from Kannepalli to the Gadde.
